We are continually evolving to being more than just a meal........

Where it all began..
Swansea Meals on Wheels first meal was cooked at Swansea Bowling Club on 5 November 1973 at a cost of 40c, which consisted of Meat Curry, Mashed Potato, Carrots & Peas. SMOW started with a handful of volunteers who serviced about 30 members of the community.
Today more than over 100 people from Pelican / Blacksmiths to the south of Swansea Bridge, including Caves Beach, Catherine Hill Bay and Nord's Wharf all have their meals delivered to them by our team of volunteers Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
About Us
Swansea Meals on Wheels is proudly supported by a wonderful team of around 120 dedicated volunteers who help serve our community across Swansea several days each week. While we are incredibly grateful for the support of our current volunteers, we are always looking to welcome more caring and community-minded people who want to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
We are especially looking for people with big hearts, warm smiles, and a genuine passion for helping others — because sometimes a friendly face and a kind conversation can mean the world to someone.
Our volunteer team is made up of Board and Committee members, kitchen assistants, cooks, drivers, and meal runners, all working together to support our local community. Meals are lovingly prepared and delivered by our amazing volunteers, often in teams of two using their own vehicles — meaning our clients receive not only a nutritious meal, but double the smiles and friendly connection along the way.
At Swansea Meals on Wheels, we support frail older people, younger people living with disability, carers, and those who may no longer be able to prepare meals for themselves. Our goal is to help people remain living independently in the comfort of their own homes while maintaining their dignity, wellbeing, and quality of life.
But Swansea Meals on Wheels is about so much more than simply preparing and delivering meals. Every meal is made with care, compassion, and love. Equally important are the moments of social connection our volunteers provide through a friendly chat, a smile, and a genuine wellbeing check-in. For many of our clients, these visits are a valued source of companionship and reassurance, helping them feel connected, supported, and cared for within their community.
